Backgammon and other board games
Board game is a general name for a very wide range of games played on a pre-designed surface. Board games vary in the number of participants, rules, objectives, components and target groups.
There are numerous board games that are designated for families and groups recreation, such as Monopoly and Cluedo; others are focused on war simulation of two armies and are usually for two players as chess and checkers; and less common but valid nevertheless are board games for a single player as marble solitaire.
All board games consist of a playing surface and game pieces that are moved across the board according to the rules of the specific game; some of the games may include cards or cubes, which provide additional instructions or movement tools.
The games are based on strategic thinking, pure luck or a combination of both, but either way, have some kind of goal, the player aims to achieve.
One of the most popular and old timer board games is backgammon, which belongs to the two players' war games category. Backgammon is based on both strategy and luck, and although having a very easy to learn set of rules, may lead to very complex positions.
